Valerie has recently joined the firm as counsel in the commercial litigation group at Shapiro, Croland, Reiser, Apfel, & Di Iorio, LLP.  She has extensive experience handling insurance coverage disputes under various types of insurance policies including commercial general liability, professional, homeowners and environmental policies.  Valerie has also represented small to mid-size businesses in a range of commercial disputes including contract claims, collection actions, consumer fraud claims, construction defect claims and personal injury/property damage claims. She is the frequent recipient of court appointments in a variety of matters including allocation of settlements and serving as guardian ad litem for minors and alleged incapacitated individuals. Valerie is a magna cum laude graduate of Montclair State University and Seton Hall University School of Law.  She served as a law clerk for the Honorable James J. Petrella, Presiding Judge of the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey.
